Aruni, the new Rainbow Six Siege defender revealed

Rainbow Six Siege revealed a new member to its cast with Aruni, a new Defender coming in Operation Neon Dawn.

Rainbow Six Siege Aruni

The new Defender doesn’t reveal her kit besides her potential ability with lasers. Rainbow Six Siege’s video started off with what looked like Aruni’s new gadget. Specifically, the gadget appears to set up a laser field over doors. Placed just above the middle of a door frame, lasers emerge from Aruni’s gadget so that players take damage from the high heat when passing the door. It’s likely that this is her ability based on how much talk there is from her about heat and given that lasers are concentrated with heat.

Unfortunately, the Aruni reveal received a negative reception with many fans and even Rainbow Six Siege esports professionals worried about her strength. As has been common with recent operators like Melusi and Zero, their abilities tend to be too strong. And a gadget deploying laser beams is certainly something to worry about. Rainbow Six Siege esports has become problematic with how many traps are constantly deployed in the meta.

Operation Neon Dawn

Currently, nothing more has been revealed in Operation Neon Dawn, the Rainbow Six Siege content update to add Aruni. Though the trailer takes a sci-fi approach to introduce the new operator, it’s unlikely much of that will carry over into the game. For now, fans must wait for the full reveal to learn more about Operation Neon Dawn and Aruni.

The full reveal for Operation Neon Dawn and Aruni takes place during the European November Six Major. Though the competition starts on November 6, the actual full reveal takes place on Sunday, November 8, at 11 AM EST.
