Black Ops Cold War Season 5
The new season of Black Ops Cold War is shaping up to be a captivating season packed with electrifying action. Treyarch already released the Patch Notes, which gives fans a glimpse of how things will unfold right from the start to the end of the season. As in previous seasons, each player starts with a pistol. But from there, agents will earn unique skills depending on their abilities and roles.
Multiplayer
Black Ops Cold War Season 5 launches with five all-new multiplayer maps, including the return of the 6v6 Slums Black Ops 2 map, 6v6 Echelon map, 2v2 Showroom Gunfight map, and 3v3 Showroom Gunfight map. In the course of this season, Treyarch will also bring the Drive-In map and Zoo later on.
Other changes coming to Multiplayer include the Double Agent mode, which isn’t much different from Trouble in Terrorist Town. Double Agent characters must work undetected to sabotage missions. It’s the work of other players to identify the agent. Good news to players, Double Agent mode can be played in Custom Games where friends can play together in a private match.
Besides the brand-new multiplayer maps and modes, Activision is introducing the old-school Flamethrower as a low-cost scorestreak weapon. Ardent Call of Duty fans who might have played earlier games such as World at War will love this addition in Black Ops Cold War Season 5.
There won’t be “lobby shopping” in the multiplayer League Play anymore. League Play Map and mode UI will come to life when the lobby is locked in and once all players are found.
Weapons
Treyarch made noticeable changes to assault rifles. Many fan-favorite selections such as the LC10, FARA 83, QBZ-83, FFAR, XM4, and C58 have been nerfed and buffed on areas to balance the game. Each of the weapons received a buff, which comes because of the reduction of the Bullet Velocity penalty. In effect, rifles can now cause significant damage even with long-range shots. Dual-wielded pistols will curb strafe speeds and movement by 5%, thus reducing the operator’s mobility and agility.
Season Five launches at 9PM PT August 12th with new Warzone updates, five free MP maps, new content in Zombies, Outbreak, Onslaught, Dead Ops Arcade 3, and much more.
