World Series of Warzone
This event brings the best Call of Duty players from North America and Europe together in the greatest Warzone competition so far. Hosting four online tournaments, trios and duos can play for the biggest prize pool yet. In the first year of Call of Duty WSOW, these four esports events hold a total of $1.2 million in prizing. Not to mention that these four tournaments are just what’s been shared for the first year. The first Warzone tournament takes place on June 23 for North American trios.
The World Series of Warzone format brings five team captains to draft their own teams. Each captain gets selected by the Activision esports team where these captains will represent the Call of Duty and Warzone community. These captains lead 30 total players between five teams consisting of 10 trios or 15 duos. WSOW team captains are included in these teams as they and two drafted players participate in trios events.
$300,000 Call of Duty Tournament
Activision takes the lead by inviting some players to join the WSOW. But even normal players have the chance to join the Warzone draft. Open qualifiers and some tournaments from Call of Duty League teams will allow normal players to compete. From there, winners can get their chance to shine at the WSOW draft.
The 12 CDL teams can also invite a squad of their choice to the WSOW draft, although no more than two pro players can be on one squad. Adding esports players to World Series of Warzone ups the competition and gameplay from everyone. After every spot is filled, WSOW team captains choose their personal squad and nine other squads for the overall team.
“Expect the other three events, consisting of a European Trios event and Duos events for North America and Europe, to be announced at a later date,” Activision stated.
Activision and Call of Duty esports’ biggest Warzone event yet starts in one month with $300 thousand on the line. World Series of Warzone takes the best players and pits them against each other. Once the WSOW team captains are decided and they draft their 10 teams, this series becomes similar to a franchise or a league. Interested players will want to read the rules and see how they can join.
