VCT Game Changers 3
Starting on September 30, the event spanned four days of back-to-back esports action. Powerhouse teams like Dignitas Female and CLG Red took on the best. But in the end, none could stop the dominance from Cloud9 White. They swept XSET Female, Dignitas Female, and Shopify Rebellion before the grand finals. Although Shopify made it back through the lower bracket, they once again fell to C9 White in a close series.
Initial one-sided gameplay from Cloud9 White against Shopify Rebellions made the match look unfair. But the tables quickly turned and Shopify brought the series back, keeping every map close. Big flanks from C9’s “katsumi” kept them alive. In the end, the VCT Game Changers 3 winner ended the tournament with only one map dropped.

VALORANT and Women’s Esports
As esports and gaming culture finally shifts to better accommodate women, Riot Games continues to make strides to include them in the industry. Despite facing various misconduct issues in the past, the company looks to make big differences.
VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Game Changers 3 and its previous iterations successfully brought a bigger spotlight for women. Programs like Enlight and Rocket League Goals For Change create more options for women in esports but more work is still needed. Using competition to fuel growth, VALORANT esports and VCT Game Changers will make their return in 2021.
