COD: Mobile Goes Dark for Season 12

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 12 Going Dark is set to start in a couple of days, replacing the eleventh season that celebrate COD’s anniversary. Alongside it comes a new battle pass, filled with new features.

Right now, Call of Duty: Mobile is on a hot streak. After celebrating its first anniversary and reaching the 300 million downloads milestone, Activision is appealing to the fanbase nostalgia once again. COD: Mobile Season 12 is Going Dark, part of a famous line from Captain Price during the Modern Warfare reveal a year before.

Going Dark

Activision already sets the tone of Season 12 just from the name, Going Dark. This one will be themed around military operations with a likely appearance from Captain Price. He also took center stage on a short teaser uploaded to the Call of Duty: Mobile official Twitter page with another fan-favorite character, Ghost.

As usual, this new season will introduce its own battle pass, containing soldiers, emotes, and cosmetic items. To stay in the Modern Warfare setting, the new Hackney Yard map will enter COD Mobile. The particularity of this map is its settings, as players can wander around it in broad daylight or at night. Hackney Yard is also a very dense and urban map with many containers and buildings to create many opportunities for close combat.

Fans don’t know yet if the developers are planning to add another map into the game for COD Mobile Season 12.

Activision already revealed that Refitter, a new battle royale class, will be available as of season 12 start. This class’s passive ability is making the use of armor and vehicles easier by increasing their durabilities. This new class also comes with the Armor Pack, a gadget that drops armor packs. Picking these up will protect a player and squadmates from some damage.

Usually, Activison introduces two new weapons per season and this one should not be an exception. However, the studio decided to not reveal these yet. Because of this, fans started speculating what’s coming, especially after the release of the trailer.

Even though COD Season 11 celebrated the game’s first year of existence, it also brought a new feature that enraged many Call of Duty fans. The new item rarity called Mystic requires lots of luck to pull and hard work to upgrade. The next couple of days will tell if Season 12 is going to follow the same path or if Activision decided to listen to its player and fix what most consider as a failure.
