DreamHack will return for its March Open 2021 CS:GO esports tournament featuring two regional segments. The tournament kicks off on March 10 and goes on for five days ending on March 14. Now, the tournament boasts both a North American segment and a South American one.
DreamHack tournaments continue to provide CS:GO fans with top-tier action and Open March is no exception. Featuring a mix of tier 1 and tier 2 teams this event finally concludes the action for March 2021. Here’s a quick look at the tournament, its format, participating teams and prize pool.
DreamHack Open March
DreamHack Open March has two regional divisions, North America and South America, where the winner of each region qualifies for IEM Summer 2021.

North America Regional
DreamHack Open March North America features eight CS:GO esports teams competing for a $70 thousand prize pool. The event forms two groups of four teams each with the group stage hosting a double-elimination GSL format group stage. The top two teams from each group advance to the tournament playoffs. And as for the playoffs format, it sees a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three semifinal matches and grand finals as a best-of-five match. The tournament winner receives an invitation to IEM Summer 2021.

Team Liquid is the favorite to win CS:GO DreamHack Open March 2021 North America. The sixth-ranked team finished in the top four of the IEM XV World Championship and BLAST Premier Global Final 2020. But Team Liquid will face stiff competition from the likes of Bad News Bears, paiN Gaming and Triumph.
The winning team receives $35 thousand while the runner-up gets $15 thousand.
South America Regional
The South American segment is smaller than the North American one with just four participating teams. This CS:GO esports tournament has a $30 thousand prize pool.

In South America, teams play in a double-elimination bracket where all matches excluding the grand finals are best-of-three series. Grand finals are a best-of-five affair with a one-map advantage to the winning team. Whoever wins this event receives $16 thousand along with an invitation to IEM Summer 2021.
