RLCS Winter Regional
The addition of Fadeaway into the event comes after FC Barcelona released their Rocket League esports team. The org received an auto-invite to the tournament thanks to Barcelona leaving. This is huge considering the event is Rocket League’s first RLCS Winter Regional.
Although the team isn’t the strongest in Rocket League esports, having a chance at a major event like this could be a big break. Since the announcement of a new esports format for Rocket League teams, there’s been a mixed reaction. Some teams like mousesports and Cloud9 chose not to participate in the competitive scene while other teams enjoyed the new format. Regardless, Fadeaway will compete with the best of the best to make their name in the major tournament.
Rocket League Fadeaway
The team joins the competition at an awkward time since Fadeaway just made a roster change. Specifically, Maurice “Yukeo” Weihs is tentatively a part of the team. Technically, Yukeo is still signed to Dignitas as an inactive player, but the org allowed him to play under Fadeaway for this RLCS Winter Regional.
We would like to present our new 3rd for the #RLCS Winter split:
🔹 Player: Maurice @Yukeo Weihs 🇦🇹
🔹 Role: Entry / Aggressive Scorer
🔹 Contract length: unlimited (from 10/30/2020)
🔹 Value: priceless https://t.co/80rPFZzvIF

Fadeaway will need to incorporate Yuko into their strategies fast if they want to win the first Rocket League Championship Series European Winter Regional Split. Fadeaway may have performed alright at the recent European Regional tournament for RLCS Season X, but the team must reach higher to beat the high caliber teams they’ll see at the Winter Split. November 12 is the updated date for when EU Regional Event #1 begins.
