In the last two days, FaZe Clan’s CS:GO esports team announced the recruitment of Finn “karrigan” Andersen from mousesports and thanked Olof “olofmeister” Gustafsson for his services over the last three years.

FaZe Clan realized it was finally time to let the legend go and start another project. While olofmeister was previously the centerpiece, FaZe struggled to perform at the highest level, often failing a few steps away from CS:GO esports Majors. Still, the team refused to lower its ambition and signed karrigan to replace him.
FaZe Clan Karrigan
Like in olofmeister’s case, many fans consider karrigan as the soul of mousesports. However, after six years of loyal service, both parties agreed on the early termination of his contract. While a regular organization could hold and fulfill the contract to the end, mousesports showed respect to one of its all-time best players.

Karrigan reached an agreement with FaZe Clan, who he played with for two years in the past. He will probably take over olofmeister’s responsibilities in the main lineup. Among the list of recent changes for FaZe, like the signing of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, Karrigan will probably be the most important one.
Olofmeister Steps Down
From 2017, olofmeister was a staple for FaZe Clan’s CS:GO esports team. Despite his strong performances, he had to step down on multiple occasions after May 2020. Following that, FaZe could count on him to participate as a fifth, but it was clear his end was near. olofmeister finally tweeted he will step down from the main lineup.
Nonetheless, it does not mean that olofmeister will retire from esports. His tweet mentioned an update in the future about his situation. He will probably look for another team to get back to the level of play he showed for most of his career. But even if retires, fans can guess that olofmeister is not done with the CS:GO esports scene. Many fans would love to see him coach a Major contending team with his experience and personality.
Fans will get to see FaZe Clan in its new form with Karrigan and without olofmeister at IEM Katowice 2021 on February 18. BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2021 will be the second important deadline for this new group.
