Fortnite Season 4 launches with Marvel powers and skins

Today, Epic Games revealed the upcoming season for Fortnite. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 is all about superheroes and supervillains, also titled Nexus War. In collaboration with Marvel, heroes from the MCU have made their way to the Fortnite island to fight against Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. The Fortnite Season 4 battle pass is filled with alternately designed Marvel Universe character cosmetics. Additionally, new weapons, points of interest, challenges, and more have been added to the game.

Protecting Fortnite

One of the most surprising additions in the new season are the cosmetics in the battle pass. Thor, Groot, Storm, Mystique, She-Hulk, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, and Wolverine comprise Season 4’s battle pass with Wolverine as the secret challenge skin. Each skin has cosmetic tiers and an awakening challenge to reward players with new emotes upon completion. Overall, the entirety of the battle pass is Marvel-themed and each cosmetic compliments the many skins.

With every season, new locations arise. In Season 3, players saw Catty Corner, The Fortilla, and more. This season introduces Helicarrier, Doom’s Domain, Sentinel Graveyard, and random Quinjet spawn locations.

Helicarrier isn’t a location in Fortnite just yet, but it’s the new island for pre-game lobby preparation. Doom’s Domain replaced Pleasant Park and is now Doctor Doom’s abode. Players can find the MCU supervillain patrolling near his domain. Besides that, the location features an underground base and a statue.

Sentinel Graveyard isn’t too flashy, boasting battered sentinels lying around with no real purpose. Lastly, Quinjets’ locations are randomized around the map. This POI has many loot chests and deadly robots that won’t hesitate to shoot anything that moves. Overall, many mysteries still ponder the updated map, with most people questioning the existence of sentinel remains scattered.

Added Weapons/Items and New Mythics

As always, many weapons have been unvaulted. The pump shotgun, LMG, Boogie Bomb, Revolver, Tactical SMG, and Scoped Assault Rifle return in Fortnite Season 4’s weapon rotation. Stark Industries Energy Rifle is the newly-introduced weapon that any player wants in their arsenal, so long as they know how to aim.

Changing how players win games through superhero abilities, new Mythics are added to Fortnite. Players can now shoot death orbs, roll through the field in a root-protected ball, and more. The new Mythics are Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, Groot’s Bramble Shield, and Silver Surfer’s Board. As the season progresses, more mythics will show up later.

Overall, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 looks action-filled with many updates and new features that focus on the game’s environment to a more explosive direction. With new Mythics changing how players defend against overpowered kits, to POIs that resemble mini challenges for those that enter, Fortnite Season 4 is a Marvel world. But only time will tell if players will still enjoy Fornite’s reoccurring bad-guy-good-guy theme.
