G2 Esports updates CS:GO roster by removing JaCkz

G2 Esports announced on Twitter today that Audric “JaCkz” Jug would step down from its official CS:GO roster, leaving his role to François “AmaNEk” Delaunay.

A few weeks sooner, G2 broke the news by recruiting the star rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. For a few teams in this esports scene, this would have posed no problem. However, as G2 does not wish to adopt a six-man roster, the organization had to decide who between JaCkz and AmaNEk would take the last spot.

To effectively assess which of the two French players it should keep, the organization played them one after the other. At IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020, JaCkz helped his team perform up to the semifinals. Still, G2 decided that AmaNEk showed more promising performances at BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020 and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020. In that regard, the esports organization let both players express their abilities before making such a difficult decision.

“When NiKo arrived, we made it clear that our goal was not to explore a six-man roster,” said G2 Team Manager Jérôme “NiaK” Sudries. “We had six players with different profiles and qualities, so our goal was to determine which combination would work best on the field. It’s all about balance and synergy, and even if we can anticipate certain things, the server is always the best judge. Our test focused on JACKZ and AMANEK, and we quickly realized that our system benefited more from François’ qualities”.

JaCkz’s Future

“So it is with a heavy heart that we decided to remove JACKZ from the active roster, and allow him to explore his options for 2021,” the official statement said.

G2 Esports decided that AmaNEk would be a starter in its official CS:GO roster. The team is still letting JaCkz explore his options. With what he has proven so far, multiple teams could be interested in his profile. Of course, G2 Esports did not forget to mention JaCkz’s dedication to CS:GO over the last two years as he was an integral part of its success.
