Guild Esports just announced its entrance into the competitive VALORANT scene. The organization decided to sign the existing roster from Bonk that already included top esports players.
The organization backed by David Beckham decided to sign an entire roster. Besides Rocket League and FIFA, this is the third game in which the London esports organization will compete.
Guild Esports VALORANT
Guild Esports stated that it has been through a “rigorous selection process” to find these “sought-after” players. As a result, William “draken” Sundin, Filip “Goffe” Gauffin, Malkolm “bonkar” Rench, Leo “Ziz” Janneson, and Yacine “Yacine” Laghmari were signed by the org. This team is a mix of previous CS:GO professionals and formers stars from different rosters.
This team already proved itself on VALORANT, both in the Ignition Series and the Mandatory Cup. But despite strong performances, G2 Esports ended up defeating them twice. Still, all players in this newly created roster have experience in playing high stakes esports.
Huge Ambitions
The organization decided to invest in the VALORANT esports scene for several reasons. Firstly, Riot Games showed the industry that it’s capable of managing a top-class esports title in League of Legends. Next, the game was heavily watched during release and ended up breaking multiple records. Finally, more and more players are turning their back on CS:GO esports to try out VALORANT.
“Joining the Valorant community is a perfect step for Guild and we are delighted to expand into the new exciting and emerging esports space.” said Guild Esports Executive Chairman Carleton Curtis.
With David Beckham as a principal investor, Guild Esports plans to win and create a dynasty. Doing so in a brand new game is easier than facing teams with huge records and experience in other games like League of Legends or CS:GO.
“Guild is an organisation with big ambition that is on a path to achieve great things and I’m proud to be a part of that. I’ve always been an ambitious player and want to create a legacy that will last,” said Yacine.
First Strike will probably be Guild Esports’ first target. Fans will definitely eye the team to see what they’re capable of.
