Guild Esports signs Subway as multimillion sponsor

Guild Esports makes headlines today with a new sponsorship with fast-food chain Subway. Co-owned by David Beckham, the esports organization sets out to support player health and keep nutrition on the right track. The multimillion-dollar sponsorship sees Subway as Guild Esports’ official quick-service restaurant partner, where it covers 50 EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) markets.

Lasting two-years, Guild Esports is the first to sign an EMEA sponsorship deal with Subway. Although there haven’t been any precise numbers disclosed, Guild will receive four portions throughout the two years. Additionally, Subway holds the right to include the brand on Guild’s merchandise, content – whether it involves players, streamers or the overall organization – and esports activations.

Subsequently, Subway becomes an Academy Partner, meaning that the brand will engage with younger audiences across EMEA. Subway now interacts on a local level and supports the sponsored organization through a balanced nutrition program for Academy members and fans. As a double powerhouse, both work positively towards aiding youth in making healthier choices.

Louise Wardle, Vice President Marketing EMEA at Subway, spoke on behalf of the company. Subway finally looks to engage with younger audiences through healthy meal choices and support Guild Esports.

This grassroots partnership will therefore connect a globally responsible brand with young people across EMEA.”

The esports industry has seen hundreds of sponsorships take place across organizations. However, it’s hard to name a few healthier brands out there looking to make an honest difference. Subway’s sponsorship with Guild Esports means more than just sandwiches and salads. Overall, the sponsorship is a gateway to transforming the lives of younger individuals that follow in Guild Esports’ shadow.
