HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas to reopen

Allied Esports announced today that the organization plans to reopen HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas. Located at Luxor Hotel and Casino, the flagship venue closed down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that quarantine restrictions ease up, HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas plans to reopen on June 25. With an altered schedule and procedures to maximize safety, esports fans will be thrilled for its return.

HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas

Launched March 2018 in an esports partnership between Allied Esports and HyperX, the location held events like League of Legends All-Star 2019. Many notable esports titles hope to make HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas their tournament venue. Featuring a 50-foot video LED wall and a 30,000 square foot multi arena, it’s a huge location for thousands of fans. The Las Vegas shutdown greatly affected business, as seen by Allied Esports (AESE) as seen by the NASDAQ stock listing.

Upon relaunching next week, the venue offers two methods of entertainment. Walk-up video game play along with a limited availability merchandise area open only to online or mobile purchases will be available. The arena’s weekly tournament schedule will restart on a limited basis featuring games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fortnite, and Mario Kart 8. But these tournaments will player capped based on physical distancing guidelines. While VIP rooms and other large gathering spaces remain closed, guests will still be required to follow social distancing rules while in the arena. Masks will be available for players although they aren’t required.

Allied Esports

Although the pandemic set businesses all over the world behind, Allied Esports will finally be moving again. The company suffered declining stock prices on the NASDAQ through recent years but saw a huge jump today. Allied Esports ended the day at an evaluation of $2.91 with an increase of $0.83 just today. Considering the rocky stock’s history, there’s no doubt that today’s 39.9% percent boost came from news of the reopening.

“The health of our communities will always come first and foremost, and we’ve taken the necessary steps to create an environment where gamers can come together again,” said Jud Hannigan, CEO of Allied Esports. “We’re confident that with our safety protocols in place players and fans will still be able to enjoy the thrill of the on-site experience that HyperX Esports Arena is known for.”

HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas boasts an impressive location for any esports event. Reopening the venue now creates more opportunities for other industry events to take place. As businesses and arenas reopen, fans will be excited to see their favorite venues available for tournaments. Esports continues to grow, even through COVID-19, and HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas will keep hosting online events throughout summer. The venue also brings a new online format in July so fans should keep an eye out for updates.
