LVP introduces Unity Cup, a national CS:GO tournament

The League of Videogames Professionals (LVP) unveiled the Unity Cup, a national CS:GO esports tournament that offers a spot in the next BLAST Premier Spring and Fall Showdown.

BLAST Premier is one of the most appreciated global circuits for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports events. After all, the latest BLAST Premier Global tournament saw Natus Vincere win over $1 million in prizes. Winning the Unity Cup will be a way to reach that objective.

LVP, owned by the MEDIAPRO Group, is known as the largest esports organization in the Spanish language. So it’s no surprise to see the Unity Cup organized in Spain. Starting from February 27, qualified teams will fight until the end for a chance to win prestigious invitations. The goal of this CS:GO esports tournament is to offer an opportunity for Spanish teams to step onto a bigger stage.

This BLAST Premier Qualifier includes two different tournaments: one in March and the other in Autumn. The first one just opened its doors, so teams can already register through the ArenaGG platform. The new sponsor, Mahou Cinco Estrellas, will also be a part of the broadcast as the provider of the MVP segment.

BLAST Premier Showdowns

Unity Cup champions win €4 thousand alongside an invitation to a Play-In tournament.  Of course, the top six teams of every Unity Cup also receive this invitation. After filling the rest with teams from RTP Arena, they fight to win their ticket to the BLAST Premier Spring and Fall Showdowns. In addition to this possibility, both winners of the Play-In tournaments also receive €25 thousand.

“The Unity Cup is an explosive competition that allows Spanish teams to make the leap to the international scene, one of the traditional demands of our ecosystem,” LVP’s Chief Executive Officier Jordi Soler stated. “At LVP we are delighted with this connection with BLAST and also convinced that it is the best bet for the CS: GO season.”

The final phase of the Unity Cup and the Play-In tournaments are streamed on LVP’s official Twitch channel. The broadcasting team consists of multiple talents, including Ulises Prieto, Sergio Ferra, and Eugenio “Kam1” Mongi. Finally, LVP promises many more surprises to come during the competition.
