Ninja returns to Twitch for exclusive streaming

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins revealed today that he will return to streaming on Twitch.

After signing an exclusive contract with Microsoft’s Mixer last year, the streaming giant is back in play. Now that Mixer closed down and Twitch remains the top streaming platform, the choice was obvious.

Ninja the Twitch Streamer

Ever since Ninja became the top streaming in the gaming industry, he constantly made gaming and esports news. Promoting high levels of play on Fortnite and Warzone, he brings a massive audience to regular streams. That’s why Microsoft chose him as Mixer’s star streamer. Since then, his viewership saw a huge drop on Mixer until he went on hiatus after the platform closed.

More recently, he announced his return to streaming after the Mixer close. Because he took a break from streaming after Microsoft shared the news, fans didn’t know what to expect. Would Ninja stream on Facebook Gaming or return to Twitch?

On July 8, Ninja revisited the streaming world with a launch stream on YouTube Gaming. Although at the time, he didn’t disclose if he signed a contract or not. Rod “Slasher” Breslau found that he planned to stream on YouTube until he established another contract. Two months later and he’s back on Twitch.

Some fans are still surprised that he chose not to sign with YouTube Gaming. In August 2019, just weeks after Ninja stopped streaming on Twitch, viewers found that Twitch streamed pornography on his channel. In an experiment to use streamer channels to promote other recommended channels, Twitch’s algorithms made a poor choice for his profile. Although the situation quickly de-escalated, he was outraged and saw it as a slight against him.

Evidently, Ninja decided that the pros in an exclusive streaming contract with Twitch outweigh past mistakes. With the world’s largest streaming once again back on the largest streaming platform, fans are excited to see what comes next in the industry. Twitch succeeded in not only fixing its past mistake but signing the best in streaming. Ninja’s “first” Twitch stream starts September 10 at 2 PM CT.
