NRG, NA’s Best Rocket League Esports Team
Facing SpaceStation Gaming in the grand finals, NRG dominated and quickly ended the match 2-0. The best of seven sets went in NRG’s favor at 4-2 and 4-1, leading to an overall map score of 8-3.
Their rise from the RLCS X Championship lower brackets started in the semifinals against G2 Esports. Although G2 kept the match very close, they fell to the NA superstars, who then went to stomp the finals. Fans expected much more from SpaceStation Gaming after they beat Envy and Rogue, two of North America’s consistent and top RLCS X teams. But NRG Rocket League players Garrett “GarrettG” Gordon, Justin “jstn” Morales, and Mariano “SquishyMuffinz” Arruda put a stop to the SSG’s run and took the championship title.

RLCS X Championship
Now that NRG won the biggest Rocket League esports tournament of the year, they walk home with $160 thousand from the $400 thousand prize pool. The Rocket League elites even won the recent RLCS X Spring Major just last month, beating G2 Esports 4-2. Some of the community believe that this team wasn’t the best, but they showed up when it mattered.
Although the RLCS X Championship in 2021 saw a regional format with four separate tournaments, fans still saw amazing competition everywhere. North America, South America, Oceania, and Europe held separate Rocket League championships to each crown one winner. True Neutral, Ground Zero Gaming, and Vitality came out on top in the other regions respectively. RLCS X is finally over and the best Rocket League esports teams earned their crown. Stay tuned for more details on the next competitive season.
