A recent report announced that CS:GO esports legend Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson would step up for FaZe Clan at the BLAST Premier Fall Series.
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, the current in-game leader for FaZe, seems to be on his way to G2 Esports. With the BLAST Premier Fall Series coming up, someone needs to replace him for the American organization. From what fans know so far, Swedish legend olofmeister will reappear in Faze’s starting line-up for the upcoming tournament.
The Return of Olofmeister
A few months ago, olofmeister released a statement on Twitter saying that the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports scene had fatigued him severely. Between the excruciating hours of practicing and the stress of the competition, esports players don’t have it easy. He needed some time to improve his motivation and health. But he still remains in love with the game and the competitive environment. For his fans, this meant there was hope for him to return.

On Reddit, a user uploaded a screenshot that allegedly showed olofmeister practicing with FaZe Clan. Five months after his last tournament at ESL One: Road to Rio Europe, olofmeister could be on his way back to CS:GO esports. Between Fnatic and FaZe, the Swedish player is known as the most prestigious player of the decade, with 25 trophies. He made the Tec-9 more famous than anyone by holding a better ratio with it than with the AK-47.
FaZe in CS:GO Esports
With NiKo out of the picture, FaZe needed to quickly find a replacement for him. Giving that spot to olofmeister creates an opportunity for him to return without heavy consequences should the team lose the event. It’s a one-shot for FaZe, but an opportunity for olofmeister to show what he is capable of after all this time.
Still, seeing olofmeister performing again for FaZe Clan is huge for CS:GO esports. Over the last few years, he gathered a huge community around his unique playstyle and personality. If he does return to play, his match will see lots of viewership around the world. He probably won’t be the leader of the team, but if olofmeister puts out a good performance, he may become FaZe’s technical ace.
