Paris Legion and Florida Mutineers out of CDL Stage 2

The Call of Duty League (CDL) Stage 2 Major is well underway and two top esports teams are already out of the running. Paris Legion and Los Angeles Guerillas placed last and leave just 10 CDL teams to compete.

Paris Legion and Florida Mutineers

Both esports teams lost 0-3 against their respective matchup today on April 7. Starting at 12 pm PST today, Paris Legion played the Los Angeles Thieves, who made waves in Call of Duty esports. The team even holds Jordan “JKap” Kaplan as the LA Thieves head coach. Paris Legion took its time finalizing its roster in the offseason but it still wasn’t enough. In the Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control modes today, Paris lost each map and only came close on Control.

Following that match, the Los Angeles Guerillas played the Florida Mutineers at 1:30 pm PST. Unfortunately, the Guerillas took another 0-3 match and lost tragically. In fact, the LA-based squad only came close on Search and Destroy playing on Express. Though the caliber of players isn’t the same for Los Angeles Guerillas, fans still didn’t think they would lose so quickly in the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major.

CDL Stage 2 Major

After kicking off today, fans can’t wait for how the rest of the week goes as the best teams play. Boasting a $500 thousand prize pool, tomorrow’s series of Call of Duty esports matches bring some of the best, like OpTic Chicago and Dallas Empire. Atlanta FaZe currently holds the top spot in the CDL standings but they won’t play until Friday.

The CDL Stage 2 Major runs for nearly a week, finishing up on Sunday, April 11. Whoever comes out on top will earn $200 thousand and CDL points, cementing themselves for the 2021 Call of Duty League Championship. Paris Legion and Los Angeles Guerillas didn’t stay long in the tournament but this gives them more time to prepare for Stage 3. Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major returns tomorrow at 12 pm PST. The action all starts with the New York Subliners facing the Dallas Empire.
