Preseason 2021 Mythic and Legendary items and changes

Riot Games announced some final information about the League of Legends Preseason 2021 item changes, including details about Mythic and Legendary items. Although everything is still tentative, there are details for every single item.

Preseason 2021 Mythic and Legendary Items

League of Legends remains one of the top esports in the world because of how often game-breaking changes go through. Each year, Riot Games makes dramatic changes to the game to foster creativity and change. This year, Preseason 2021 brings a huge item shop rework and changes nearly every single in-game item. Notable item examples include Duskblade of Draktharr for AD Assassins and Kraken Slayer for Marksman classes.

Duskblade is a powerful item that makes champions invisible after kills. For assassins like Kha’Zix or Kayne, it gives them the chance to chain assassinations through invisibility. Axamuk’s Folly for non-mana AP champions creates a huge power spike. After five seconds of combat with a champion, true damage is dealt to enemies. Ability power champions who prefer extended fights like Vladimir will love the new Preseason 2021 item.

Duskblade of Draktharr

  • 3200 gold
  • +55 Attack Damage
  • +18 Lethality
  • +25 Ability Haste
  • Dusk: Attacking an enemy champion deals 50-150 (lv 1-18) (+30% bonus Attack Damage) additional physical damage and slows them by 99% for 0.25 seconds (15 second cooldown). When a champion you have damaged within the last 3 seconds is killed, reset this cooldown and gain invisibility for 1.5 seconds.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other legendary items +5 Ability Haste.

Kraken Slayer

  • 3400 gold
  • +60 Attack Damage
  • +25% Attack Speed
  • +20% Critical Strike Chance
  • Harpoon: Every third Attack is enhanced, dealing an additional 80-120 (lv 1-18) (+30% bonus Attack Damage) true damage.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items +10% Attack Speed.

Axamuk’s Folly

  • 3200 gold
  • +80 Ability Power
  • +15 Ability Haste
  • +150 Health
  • +10% Omnivamp
  • Corruption: For each second in champion combat, deal 3% bonus damage (max 15%). While this effect is maxed, convert 100% of the bonus damage into true damage.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other legendary items +5% Magic Penetration.

New Items

The Preseason 2021 update will include 22 new Mythic items for players to use. More notably, Mythic items are the items that make or break the item build. These items are so strong that they’re incentivized to be the first purchase. Currently, Riot created 3 – 4 League of Legends Mythic items per champion class. Besides the AD Fighter class with four Mythics, every other class holds three.

Maintained Items

With the League of Legends Preseason 2021 updates, some items needed very few changes to remain viable. Riot did mention that these remaining items will still see some balances. The main effects will remain the same, though some stat changes may go through.

The full list of items includes Ardent Censer, Banshee’s Veil, Bloodthirster, Dead Man’s Plate, Edge of Night, Guardian Angel, Lich Bane, Maw of Malmortius, Mejai’s Soulstealer, Mercurial Scimitar, Nashor’s Tooth, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Rapid Firecannon, Redemption, Runaan’s Hurricane, Rylai’s Crystal Scepter, Sanguine Blade, Stormrazor, Umbral Glaive, Void Staff, Warmog’s Armor, Youmuu’s Ghostblade, and Zhonya’s Hourglass.

Removed Items

Some existing items are even being removed. Popular items like Adaptive Helm and the jungle items did not show enough uniqueness to keep around. Although in the case of the jungle items, those will now work similarly to support items. Junglers buy either Doran’s Forgeheart or Doran’s Hailseed, which will automatically upgrade after enough smites.

  • Adaptive Helm
  • Athene’s Unholy Grail
  • Frozen Mallet
  • Hextech GLP-800
  • Hextech Gunblade
  • Spellbinder
  • Statikk Shiv
  • Twin Shadows
  • Jungle items

Preseason 2021 Item Changes

The new items hit League of Legends PBE soon and will remain for six weeks to let players test different builts. Thankfully, Riot will actively adjust items as needed during these six weeks.
