Group Stage and Schedule
Despite many delays and uncertainties because of COVID-19, the Six Invitational 2021 finally has its schedule confirmed. The Ubisoft team is excited to announce it received authorization from the French government for the full event. From May 11 to May 23, the Six Invitational 2021 takes place without an audience at the Palais Brongniart venue. Group Stage takes place until May 16 and from May 19 to 23, playoffs and the finals occur.
As for the format, all teams start in two groups with 81 matches total. With about four matches for each Rainbow Six Siege esports team, this ensures more accuracy when seeding everyone. After the Group Stage finishes, the top eight performing teams make it to the Playoff Stage. Here, the Six Invitational 2021 becomes a double-elimination tournament with the top eight teams from groups in the upper bracket and the next eight in the lower bracket. Grand finals are a best-of-five match where the winner takes home $1 million from the $3 million prize pool.

With additional safety measures, teams from all 4 regions, including Brazil, will be authorized to enter France.
Sadly, however, despite all efforts, Wildcard Gaming will still not be able to come.

Six Invitational 2021 Teams
After finding out that Rainbow Six Siege esports teams from Brazil may not attend Six Invitational 2021, Ubisoft worked fast to fix things. In this week’s update, while Brazilian teams can make it, not everyone else can. Wildcard Gaming experienced many difficulties in transporting the team to the venue and can’t attend the tournament. Though everyone wanted all 20 teams to come together, that must wait for the 2022 iteration of the event.
On the plus side, with details finally confirmed, fans and the community can focus on what everyone has looked forward to. The Six Invitational 2021 Group Stage begins in just a few weeks where the best Rainbow Six Siege esports team gets crowned.
