Rainbow Six Siege Y6S2.2 Patch Notes

The official Rainbow Six Siege patch notes for Y6S2.2 got announced this morning and already released, including big updates like buffs to the reworked Tachanka and reworked Favela map moving around.

Y6S2.2 Patch Notes

Maestro and Alibi receive indirect buffs with a damage increase of 10 to the ACS12 shotgun. Another shotgun in the TCSG12 for Kaid and Goyo got a damage boost of 6 to empower to help increase pick rates. Outside of in-game changes, the Rainbow Six Siege Y6S2.2 patch finally add the new Favela to ranked and unranked playlists. On top of that, players can now report disconnected players in the post-action report.

The specific patch notes focus on helping low pick operators climb back up through subtle changes. For the operators, Frost and Zofia got nerfed while Alibi and Tachanka got buffs. Frost’s nerf is simple where she loses the 1.5x scope on her C1 as she’s one of the highest win rate defenders. Zofia’s consistent presence also warranted a nerf, making her M762 more difficult to control the recoil. As for Alibi, her update in the Rainbow Six Siege Y6S2.2 patch notes look to put her in new roles by adding a 2.0x scope to the ACS12 and 1.5x scope to the MX4 Storm.

Tachanka Buff

Despite an exciting new rework for Tachanka, one of Siege’s oldest operators, his pick rate remains low. Rainbow Six Siege developers believe that a lack of safety when using his gadget is the main reason so Y6S2.2 updates will change that. He’ll get a deployable shield instead of proximity alarms to provide cover. The launcher can also hold 14 grenades now instead of 10 and can make bigger holes now.

“Playing Tachanka should be a blast, but as it stands he has a very low presence in the Balancing Matrix,” Ubisoft said. “One of the reasons for this is that his Shumikha Launcher tends to be quite situational and can be unsafe to fire since it renders him defenseless. In addition to increasing its total ammunition to encourage more active usage, Tachanka now has a Deployable Shield which will offer him more protection when using the launcher.”

Thanks to a recent AMA update from the Rainbow Six Siege developers, the community learned a lot about the game’s direction. Ubisoft will fully commit to updating and perfecting Siege and patch Y6S2.2 showcases this. Those looking to play Rainbow Six Siege on the new Y6S2.2 patch notes can already get in on the action. The new update hit live early this morning and only took down servers for 30 minutes.
