Sakurai to introduce new Smash Ultimate character

Nintendo America just made a special announcement. Smash Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai will introduce the new character for the game on June 22. Since the release of Byleth, this new Smash Ultimate character has been teased multiple times from ARMS.

In every multiplayer game, the addition of a new character is a huge event. From battle royales to fighting games, the meta always changes somehow after the addition of a new character. As Super Smash. Bros Ultimate is based around Nintendo characters’ fan service, the community follows these events with great enthusiasm. When Smash Ultimate DLC characters Joker and Byleth were finally available, YouTube and Twitch saw huge amounts of debriefing or showcase videos.

New Smash Ultimate ARMS Character

Masahiro Sakurai is going to introduce a new DLC character from ARMS. It will be the 76th fighter to enter the game. According to the official source, this new character should be available to all players around the end of June. It’s also the first fighter of the second patch. After this one, five more characters are still awaiting their introductions into Super Smash. Bros Ultimate.

In the presentation, fans will probably see highlights of the new character as well as moves and abilities. Even though the new ARMS fighter is the main attraction of the presentation, Nintendo could always surprise players with other new content like they did when introducing Smash Ultimate characters Banjo & Kazooie and Terry Bogard. Furthermore, Nintendo also likes to use these announcements to share plans for the future.

Recent Rumors

Since launch, Smash Ultimate added six characters to an already strong roster. Byleth, Terry, Banjo & Kazooie, Hero, Joker, and Piranha Plant are fighters the community wanted to play. Nintendo always listens to the community when adding new contestants. Most importantly, the Japanese company is looking for pro players’ feedback to create fighters that will not be abandoned when finally released.

Some rumors on the web suggest that the new Smash Ultimate character could instead be multiple characters. After all, its not the first time Nintendo has done it. It this particular case, these two Smash Ultimate ARMS characters will share the same abilities and moveset as Echo Fighters. This allows Nintendo to satisfy more players with more content introduced in the game.

Sakurai’s presentation takes the form of a 35-minute livestream airing on June 22.
