Team Liquid just broke the news with the announcement of its new head coach in Jason “Moses” O’Toole. Fans already knew that someone would step up after the departure of Eric “adreN” Hoag but were kept in the dark as to who exactly would be the new Team Liquid head coach. In the previous five years, Moses has been a staple of the CS:GO esports scene as a player and caster.
Head Coach Team Liquid Moses
Sometimes, coaches are somewhat disconnected from the reality of esports. Praising strategies that had solid theories but no real foundations whatsoever. Team Liquid made sure that this will not happen with the recruitment of Moses. Being a long-time player and caster, Moses knows the inner workings of a CS:GO team perfectly and what is necessary for a squad to bring its A-game.

This is also quite a heavy bet for Team Liquid. Moses has no experience leading a team but took the challenge head-on.
“You’ve been a player, you’ve been a commentator, what can you do when you’re leading a team?” Moses said. “That’s the challenge that inspired me to take this on.”
TL Ambitions
Every CS:GO team’s ambition is domination, which leads to several titles. In recent years, there was a period where Team Liquid was nearly unstoppable. Moses is confident that the team can reach that state again. However, the current state of the game is quite difficult to work in, according to him.
“We have an era of online Counter-Strike right now where everything’s kind of uncertain,” the newly appointed TL head coach said. “Everyone’s talking about how the practice is inefficient, and the competition isn’t quite there. [It] isn’t at the top level, so it’s hard to improve and it’s hard for a team to find its groove. The short term goal has to be getting this team as prepared as possible for when events return. Use this online time wisely.”
Over the two years as head coach, Eric Hoag brought many successes for Team Liquid. The former TL head coach has paved the way for Moses to bring TL back to winning titles.
After the arrival of Michael “Grim” Wince and Moses, Team Liquid needs to find a new identity. However, fans are clearly happy about the team’s decisions until now and look forward to seeing this new Team Liquid team in real action.
