The Game Awards esports nominees and categories

As one of the year’s greatest events to celebrate gaming, The Game Awards just revealed the nominees for all of its categories, including six esports awards.

Esports Nominees

Boasting six categories this year, The Game Awards aims to reward the best of the best nominees. Categories and nominees cover the best esports team, host, game, event, coach, athlete.

Although a variety of settings are covered, all of the nominees are from the most popular titles and scenes. Esports games League of Legends, VALORANT, CS:GO, Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Dota 2 see the most focus in these categories. Interestingly, every esports category saw Call of Duty and League of Legends, with some even seeing two nominees from the latter.

The Game Awards

Since 2014, The Game Awards graced fans by celebrating the best titles and categories. Rewarding the creators and gamers who contributed the most in the year while bringing the community together is its mission. Through elevating the voices of gamers everywhere The Game Awards continues to grow the gaming community.

The competition to decide which nominee is the best in their category grows every year and this year is no different. Despite dozens of different categories will go to the best games and creators of 2020, the esports sections are close fights. Fans must wait until The Game Awards take place on December 10 to see which games, creators, and players were the best in gaming and esports for 2020.
