The inactive pros of CS:GO

With esports being such a fluid, ever-changing ecosystem, it’s nothing new when a team announces a new player or the departure of a player. Sometimes, players go inactive from their teams and do not come back into the spotlight for more than a few months.

Let’s take a look at some players who were previously staples of every tournament but have since taken a break from professional CS:GO.

Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom

Mr. One Tap himself, ScreaM has been inactive since March 30, 2019. After leaving Envy in June of last year, ScreaM most notably created team NoChance along with other players like Mikail “Maikelele” Bill and Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend. Most recently he was playing for GamerLegion before him and Kevin “HS” Tarn were benched and the organization acquired full Swedish roster.

Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans

Often hailed as one of the best in-game leaders in CS:GO, Ex6TenZ was the face of G2 Esports for almost an entire year. In his latest journey, Ex6TenZ got benched two months earlier than ScreaM from GamersLegion for the same reason.

Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt

One of the most famous French players in CS:GO was benched from G2 Esports back in June of last year and was acquired by Team Vitality in October of that same year. Following almost a year of activity, NBK was benched on September 7 of this year and was replaced by Richard “shox” Papillon 21 days later.

Richard “Xizt” Landström

After more than six years alongside NiP, Xizt was benched following a string of poor results from the team and the team brought Dennis “dennis” Edman in his place. He spent a month on FaZe as a substitute before joining Fnatic in May of last year and being benched and going inactive after more than a year of playing after failing to qualify for StarLadder Berlin 2019.

All of OpTic’s Roster

After OpTic was acquired by Immortals Gaming Club, the organization did not offer much support to their roster. This, combined with René “cajunb” Borg’s acquisition by North led every player on the roster to bench themselves and wait to be acquired or for their contracts to expire. The full benched roster is Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen, Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke, Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen, Ismail “refrezh” Ali and their coach Casper “ruggah” Due.
