Counter Strike-Global Offensive esports fans looking for extra entertainment this month can bookmark their calendar for the upcoming Twitch Rivals CS:GO Showdown event. It will be a three-day event set to start on December 14 up to December 20.

Twitch Rivals is an esports tournament that includes a series of online competitive events intended for Twitch viewers and streamers. It has currently organized several upcoming events in December.

The CS:GO showdown features Twitch content creators in esports action broadcasted by the Twitch Rivals channel. Here is crucial information regarding the event, including the prize pool, players, how to watch it, schedule, and the format.

A total of $25 thousand prize pool money is ready for grabs, slightly different from standard CS:GO esports tournaments. The prize distribution rewards the winner with $10. The second place will receive $7 thousand, while both third and fourth place will get $4 thousand each. The prize pool is certainly decently enough for players to compete.

Players and teams

On the first day in the draft phase, four team captains will be randomly selected among 20 players. From there, the draft order is randomized and team captains decide which players and creators will join the four teams. The players will then participate in the Round Robin group stage to decide the two top teams to qualify for the finals.

• December 19: Round-Robin Best-of-Two phase beginning at 10:00 pm PT to decide the two top teams for the finals face-off.
• December 20: the Best-of-three finals starting at noon PT

The Twitch Rivals CS:GO event format is different compared to standard esports tournaments. Though the format is unique, the event will still retain the competitive CS:GO maps similar to the regular top tournaments.
