VALORANT launches Strike Arabia esports for MENA Region

Riot Games is launching its first-ever VALORANT esports tournament for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) players with Strike Arabia, a First Strike event. It’s a few days into the start of the event and there is already lots of hype between fans and players.

Strike Arabia

Strike Arabia is phase two of VALORANT’s global First Strike competitions and will be held for about three weeks starting November 1 through November 25.

Strike Arabia Registration

Registration of the tournament is ongoing and closes at noon on October 31 (GMT +4).  Team captains should proceed to the official VALORANT website to begin the registration process. Remember that teams must first register on Toornament before proceeding to the VALORANT’s official site to complete the registration process.

MENA Subgroups

Strike Arabia will take place in three MENA regions simultaneously. The first sub-group is the GCC group, including players from Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Levant group comprises teams from Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq. The third group encompasses players from North Africa, including Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. Only players from the 14 countries identified in the MENA region are eligible for the event.

The top three teams from each region will enter the final phase of the competition – the First Strike Tournament to be held between December 3 and December 6. The winner is crowned the First Strike VALORANT MENA region champion.

Unlike in other First Strike series competitions, elimination matches will feature a double-elimination bracket. Fans should not expect the usual eight-team single-elimination method. The new elimination-style is consistent with Riot Games’ desire to give players room to demonstrate their skills and talent.

VALORANT Esports

To bolster participation and enhance viewership, Strike Arabia elimination matches will be streamed via Appreciation Arabia Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch channels.

Riot Games secured Logitech as its peripheral partner in the region. The company also localized its Arabian operations by acquiring Middle East Servers (based in Bahrain). This will not only provide Arabic language support, but ensures gamers get a lower ping and smoother in-game experiences.

The staging of the First Strike MENA tournament is part of the Riot Games’ commitment to building a competitive environment for VALORANT players. The company wants to unite players and fans across the world through these regional competitions. The Strike Arabia series sets the stage for increasing the fan base and establishing VALORANT esports as a competitive first-shooter game.
