Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown
The Twitch Rivals VALORANT event will be the largest global tournament for the game. Since the event takes place on Twitch, notable content creators in the competitive FPS scene will likely be invited. It’s unsure at the moment how teams will be created, but usually, randomized Twitch streamers end up forming teams. The Twitch Rivals VALORANT tournament includes every major region except for the Oceania region. Best of all, each region will have one winning team. Between North America, Brazil, LATAM, Europe, Korea, and Japan, there will be six VALORANT teams who can expect a title.
“To celebrate, Twitch Rivals is collaborating with Riot to execute the first set of competitive events for VALORANT on its grand opening weekend,” said Twitch. “These events will span the globe, with participation from some of your favorite creators in North America, Brazil, LATAM, Europe, Korea, and Japan.”
One thing to note is that the Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown will hold multiple events. Twitch’s announcement on their blog states that this is a set of competitive events. While there will obviously be the main competitive tournament, other less serious events may be seen. It wouldn’t be a surprise if there were events focused on having fun or making crazy plays thanks to the flexibility of an FPS title.
Twitch Summer Game Fest
Twitch Rivals will be handling Riot’s official VALORANT tournament as part of the Twitch Summer Game Fest. According to Twitch, “This is the only place where you can witness the future of gaming and join the conversation live with the largest gaming community on the planet.” Summer Game Fest will not only be a celebration of gaming and esports but also highlights the launch of a new channel dedicated to gaming content.
VALORANT has had a truly remarkable closed beta period where millions of fans watched streams to support content creators and earn closed beta keys. Since the game’s closed beta launch on Twitch about two months ago, making headlines in esports news became commonplace. There is currently no exact format for VALORANT esports, but it’s already impacting the esports industry. Major players like Overwatch League MVP Jay “sinatraa” Won left another game just to enter VALORANT esports. Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown will surely be a huge hit for fans seeking more content.
