WePlay! VALORANT Invitational

G2 Esports wanted to show its worth, beginning from the group stage. As a result, the team scored a 55% round winrate, which resulted in a 3-0 win-loss ratio. Winning 97 rounds out of 175 locked G2 Esports as the dominant team, tied for the best round differential.

VALORANT teams PartyParrots, nolpenki, and Ninjas in Pyjamas faced defeat from G2 Esports. Before going into the WePlay! VALORANT Invitational Grand Final, the Europeans delivered a 2-0 sweep in the semifinals against Team need more DM. G2’s players faced fish123, one of the tournament favorites, in the title match.

G2 Esports’ Tactical Win

G2 decided to keep its lineup composed of Jett, Omen, Cypher, Sova, and Sage. In order to face fish123, considered one of the best VALORANT team, the Spanish team did not risk a surprise lineup. For G2 Esports, the key was to set up an environment where fish123’s talents could not perform to the best of their abilities. Patryk “Patitek” Fabrowski and David “davidp” Prins perfectly applied this, earning nineteen kills each.

Indeed, G2 Esports delivered insane performances throughout the whole tournament, showing the VALORANT esports scene that this squad is a force to be feared. G2 came home with a $25 thousand cash prize.

davidp was an important part of this win and G2 Esports will probably offer him an official contract. The future looks bright for G2 Esports as the VALORANT team gains more experience. Fans will definitely lookout for more matches involving this team in the upcoming weeks.
