In a Twitter post, Ryan Wyatt, Leading Gaming, Commerce, Brands, and Immersive at YouTube talked about YouTube Gaming’s recent accomplishments with the boom of its gaming and streaming scene. Additionally, Ryan was ecstatic and assured the community that there was more to come.
“We’ve been making some significant strides on the Live Gaming front here at YouTube Gaming,” Ryan Wyatt said. “It’s good to see a handful of creators consistently pull 100K CCU+ every time they go live on YouTube (Scout, Mortal, DrDisrespect, Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye, etc). So much more to come! And even though the live streaming industry as a whole is so much smaller than Upload and VOD, it’s such an exciting place for us to continue to develop and improve on. I feel like we’re just scratching the surface, and I can’t wait for us to unveil more of what we’re doing here.”
Giving Back Through Mobile Esports
In past years, YouTube tiptoed its way into streaming. Although it is the epicenter for nearly every gaming video, its steps into streaming are fresh. With the recent collapse of Microsoft’s Mixer, YouTube Gaming grew more popular with the new disperse of streamers. Not only has YouTube Gaming prospered, but so has rival platform Facebook Gaming. Although competition in any business is a nuisance, for YouTube Gaming, it may bring inclusion, diversity, opportunity, and growth.
Additionally, Celebration of Mobile Gaming is a charity-focused tournament catches more eyes because it’s a good cause. Lastly, the event also focuses on mobile esports, a growing side of the esports industry that needs more attention. Overall, YouTube Gaming did an excellent job scaling the platform. Through this event, fans can expect nothing but constant leveling from this point on.
