Fortnitemares Cup Introduces First PvE Fortnite Tournament

Epic Games and Fortnite announced the first-ever PvE (player versus environment) tournament today with the 2021 Fortnitemares Cup, a Halloween-themed Horde Rush event this weekend.

Fortnitemares Cup

From 10 PM PST on October 22 to 10 AM PST on October 24, players can participate in the event through Horde Rush. Compete in the Fortnitemares Cup by playing five matches of Horde Rush while trying to earn as many points as possible. But the event does not offer a fill option so players who participate should be ready with their full squad.

Earning points for the Fortnitemares Cup rewards players with special Halloween-themed Fortnite loot and gear. Three different in-game cosmetics can be earned based on how many points players earn from competing. At 500 points, a loading screen is earned. Following that, the Feeling Wrathful spray comes in at 1000 points. Finally, players will receive the Ghoul-d Game emoticon at 2000 points, the highest tier of loot.

Horde Rush Rewards

Acquiring the loot and in-game cosmetics is simple enough but a leaderboard exists for those who want to come out on top. Every 1000 points earned in the Fortnite Horde Rush game mode counts as 1 point towards the Fortnitemares Cup. The points earned in total from the five games places participants on a global leaderboard to find the best. It’s even possible to switch squadmates for more variety in the games.

This one-of-a-kind tournament offers a new experience for Fortnite players while bringing a chance to earn unique loot. Interested players must be over 13 years old and use a 2FA enabled account. Fortnitemare Cup rules are already available on Epic Games’ site for more information.
