PENTAKILL returns for LCS Mid Season Showdown Finals

After more than three years, PENTAKILL emerges from its slumber and rises to the Los Angeles Greek Theatre stage on Sunday, April 11, to kick off the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown finals. Presented by Mastercard, the League of Legends esports opening ceremony ushers in the LCS’s collaboration with Jackson, metal guitar makers.

PENTAKILL’s 2021 Band Return

Mid-Season Showdown holds the virtual metal band’s first performance since their 2017 album “II: Grasp of the Undying”. PENTAKILL will perform live for the opening ceremony of the 2021 LCS MSS.

Produced by Riot Games’ Justin Restaino, who brought True Damage to life for the 2020 Worlds Opening Ceremony, PENTAKILL performs live on stage. Lead vocals are performed live by Norwegian rock vocalist Jorn Lande.

PENTAKILL will tease their newest band single, releasing later in 2021, intermixed with special surprises cooked from Restaino. This is also the first musical performance to hit the stage at The Greek since COVID-19 hit. The performance welcomes the first esports event to be held at the theatre.

LCS and Jackson Guitars

Following the opening ceremony, PENTAKILL joins forces with Jackson in a global collaboration. This move helps showcase the power and distinctive performances of their lineup of guitars. This is also the first guitar partnership with the LCS. Fans can tune into LCS streams for more information on news surrounding the PENTAKILL and Jackson partnership in 2021.

Though live tickets are not available for the performance, viewers can tune in on Twitch and other platforms. Those interested in head-banging to PENTAKILL’s revival should tune in on April 11 at 12:30 pm PST for the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown finals.

This performance will bring augmented reality to life on the stage, much like opening ceremonies in prior years for League of Legends esports events. From K/DA to True Damage and other AR shows in between, Riot has showcased talent in the realm of virtual reality.
