2021 has been an eventful and tremendous year for the esports community. Esports tours resumed and esports world championships took center age across major esports titles. It is time for those who have worked towards making the gaming industry a better place to claim their rewards.

Best Esports Title

For Riot Games, the Games 2021 Awards was a rewarding affair with League of Legends rightfully claiming the best esports title of the year award. Since its release a decade ago, LoL continues to be the biggest, the most influential, and the most played esports title. From regional competitions to grand world championships, League of Legends takes the crown as the best esports title.

Best Esports Team

For its immense success in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, NaVi was crowned the best esports team at the Game Awards 2021. NaVi dominated CS:GO in 2021, winning every LAN competition without dropping a single series. The Ukrainian team won Intel Grand Slam Season 3 and PGL Stockholm Major 2021, the most prestigious Counter-Strike esports events of the year.

Best Esports Athlete

The best 2021 esports athlete none other than s1mple, who led his team to their success in the 2021 season. The Ukrainian player delivered high-class performances every single game. Earlier in November, s1mple also won the “Esports PC Player of the Year.” This year, S1mple has been unstoppable, winning seven MVP titles in the process.

Best Esports Coach

For his run at the League of Legends Worlds 2021, DWG KIA’s Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun took home the best esports coach award. Following Damwon Gaming’s exceptional year in 2020, KkOma guided his team to the runners-up place in the Worlds 2021. Furthermore, DWG KIA had completely dominated LCK competitions this year.

Best Esports Event

The League of Legends World Championship was recognized as the best esports event for 2021. This event had to contend with events like The International and the VALORANT Champions Tour, which seems to gain more and more traction. The most awaited annual League event still got ahead, mainly due to its flawless organization despite the disruptions brought by the pandemic.
